Dec. 1

Science club took a trip to the Franklin Institute for the day and did the Narnia exhibit, the Planetarium, and Canyon River in IMAX.

We were tie dyeing shirts for Spirit Week

Science club went to Hawk Mountain. Photos to come.

Oct. 18

Perogies were sold at the Craft Fair along with tie dye t-shirts. Also there was volcano demonstrations. Tie dyeing supplies were supplied by Rob Hughes from EPCAMR.

Oct. 17

Perogies came in and distributed to those who sold.

Sept. 27

Nescopeck State Park Cleanup, 9 A.M. - 1 P.M.

Sept. 25

Trip to Hawk Mountain set for October 22. The club will be selling lab goggles to LCCC Chemistry students as a fundraising activity. Club members were receptive to the idea of including a science-related speaker or video during club meetings on a bi-weekly basis, starting October 2. The club will be participating in a tree planting in Wilkes-Barre sometime late in October or early in November.

Sept. 17

New club officers were elected. Club members signed up for the cleanup at Nescopeck State Park to be held on September 27, and the Alumni Association Craft Fair on October 18. There was discussion concerning additional activities beyond the sale of perogies that the club might be able to do during the Craft Fair. Suggestions included t-shirt tie-dyeing and a volcano demonstration. Trips to Hawk Mountain and the Franklin Museum were discussed, as well as the possibility of a trip to see the Mendel exhibit at Villanova University. The club will also be investigating the possibility of linking with the Genesis Wildlife Center in Scranton for an informative visit, volunteer opportunities, and donations of money and needed items to the center.

Sept. 13

Avondale Hill & Midzail Parking Area Cleanups, Lackawanna State Forest, Plymouth Township. 9 A.M. - 1 P.M.

Sept. 11

The club had a large turnout for the meeting, most of whom were new to the club. Returning member Brigid Mauro conducted the meeting, explaining the duties of the various club officers, and suggesting a variety of possible club activities for the current semester. Election of club officers is scheduled for the next meeting, to be held Thursday, Sept. 18. Club Advisor Mr. Yeager sought volunteers for the Avondale Hill & Midzail Parking Area Cleanups in Plymouth Township to be held from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 13.
